Jane Lynch, who plays slave-driving Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester on Glee, has been tapped to host Saturday Night Live..
The 50-year-old Second City vet and Emmy-nominated actress is slated to host the October 9 show, according to Movieline.
Getting the gig may have been helped by a Facebook petition calling for Lynch to host; since launching in March, it has been signed by 3,155 fans. A similar petition was credited with landing Betty White the coveted SNL job in May.

NBC did not verify the report, saying SNL hosts are "typically not [announced] until a few weeks prior to our premiere."
