Barbara Walters Salutes 'Red, White, and View' Campaign with Barack Obama
Washington is coming to "The View" on Thursday when President Barack Obama makes a historical appearance on the show.
The milestone interview will mark the inaugural time a sitting United States president will visit a daytime talk show. Barbara Walters will return to the studio for the first time since undergoing open heart surgery in May. Obama and Walters will partake in a political discussion, covering hot topics such as his administrations accomplishments, jobs, the economy, the Gulf oil spill, and family life inside the White House.
"We are so pleased and honored that President Obama will be a guest on 'The View,'" Walters said. "The President last appeared on the program in March 2008 while he was still a Senator, and First Lady Michelle Obama was a featured guest co-host in June 2008. This shows that both the President and First Lady feel that our show is an influential and important source of information and news."
"The Views"' co-hosts and panelists Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd will contribute to the regal conversation as well. Walters also announced that she will return to the in-studio broadcasts in September on a full-time basis.
The Commander in Chief's special sit-down with the lovely ladies of "The View" will be pre-taped on Wednesday for an airdate of Thursday.
