Black Sabbath bassist reminisces about Dio

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Terry "Geezer" Butler is reminiscing about his last moments with Ronnie James Dio.

The Black Sabbath bassist issued a statement Tuesday recounting his final days with his friend and bandmate Dio, who died May 16 of stomach cancer at the age of 67.
Butler says he shared his last laugh and received his final e-mail from Dio on May 12, then visited him May 15 at the hospital along with "25 to 30 friends."
Butler says friends gathered around Dio's bed and prayed, and the day was "filled with tears and reflection."
He added that Dio, who performed with Butler in the latest incarnation of Black Sabbath, was a "special person, blessed with a unique voice and presence."
